From Fukui, the birthplace of the world-class rice Koshihikari, and making use of Fukui’s sophisticated technology, a brand new rice, Ichihomare, was developed.  This focused on appearance, texture and the right amount of sweetness to come up with the “perfect” rice.

A membrane-like structure on the surface of the rice grain gives Ichihomare rice its silky white color and glossy shine. It has a subtle sweetness that spreads in your mouth, and has the best harmony between grain texture and stickiness. According to the taste rating from a rice meister, the balance of stickiness, softness, grain texture, and sweetness makes this rice a cut above the rest.
